About PTLP

Based near Pittsburgh in Cranberry Township, PA, Preservation Technologies, L.P. was established in 1992 with its patented process called Bookkeeper® Deacidification, which extends the life of books and manuscripts by neutralizing the acid found in paper. Librarians and archivists at the world’s leading universities and institutions now use the process.

The patented Bookkeeper treatment process has set a new standard for safety and effectiveness in removing harmful acids from paper. Developed to meet the standards of the United States Library of Congress, Bookkeeper is the only mass deacidification process that meets current and projected OSHA, FTC, and EPA consumer and environmental requirements.

Preservation Technologies also developed and brought to market Paper Bright®, Archival Mist®, and Clarity, three products that protect and preserve paper and philatelic materials. These products are manufactured with the same care for the object, user, and environment as Bookkeeper. In 2002, Preservation Technologies formed a creative alliance with EK Success Ltd. to market and distribute Paper Bright and Archival Mist to retailers across the U.S.
